With MakeMake’s Extra-Strength Casting Plaster, you are perfectly equipped to cast high-quality figurines using alginate or latex moulds. This plaster is approximately 8 times stronger than standard varieties (reaching up to 40 MPa), resulting in robust, finely detailed casts.

It serves as an excellent alternative to concrete for projects requiring a rapid turnaround.

Mixing and Preparation:

  • Mixing Ratio: 1 kg of casting powder to approximately 3.3–4.3 dl of water, depending on the required fluidity.

  • Yield: 1 kg of powder produces 0.75 litres of finished casting material.

  • Working Time: Approximately 5 minutes.

  • Setting Time: Approximately 30 minutes.

Important Notes:

  • Alginate Casting: If casting within an alginate mould, the mould can be removed after approximately 120 minutes. The cast will reach full hardness after 8 days.

  • Finishing: Your finished piece can be sealed with Colour Fix™. Colour Fix™ is a clear, protective varnish. If you wish to colour your figure, you can mix pigments directly into the Colour Fix™.

  • Safety Warning: Be aware that plaster generates heat while curing. Consequently, never apply casting plaster directly to the skin.

This extra-strength casting plaster is fully compatible with Colour Fix™ and various colour pigments. For optimal results, we recommend waiting until your casting has fully cured before applying any finish.
A fully cured piece is at its most porous, allowing it to better absorb and retain the pigment. Conversely, if the figure is freshly cast, the residual water within the structure will significantly reduce the surface's ability to absorb the paint.
