Our professional Alginate Rubber is the premier choice for high-precision replication of anatomical forms. Sourced from natural marine algae, this pH-neutral, non-toxic powder is a medical-grade material (equivalent to dental standards), ensuring absolute safety during the moulding process.

"The Normal" Alginate (Standard Set):

This variant is engineered for projects requiring a balanced working window. It is ideal for coordinated multi-subject casts where extra time is needed to align subjects or coordinate positions before the material sets. One 450g sachet yields approximately 2 Litres of finished moulding mass.

Critical Compatibility Warning:
This specific Alginate variant is not compatible with liquid concrete or flowable cement.

Yield Estimates:

  • 1 smaller pair of interlocked hands.
  • Approximately 3 infant foot impressions.
  • 1 full-scale adult foot impression.

*Note: Total yield is dependent on vessel dimensions and subject volume.

"The Normal" Alginate (Standard Set)

  • Mixing Ratio: 1.8L water per 450g powder (Yields approx. 2L mass).
  • Water Temperature: 35°C.
  • Mixing Phase: 2 min (Light blue to deep purple).
  • Working Phase: 70 sec (Light purple).
  • Setting Time: 60 sec (Returns to light blue when set).

*Note: Timings are indicative.
Due to potential colour variations, submerge the subject immediately after mixing is complete, regardless of the current hue.

Critical Technical Compatibility:

  • Single Use: Alginate moulds are disposable and must be cast on the same day as manufacture to ensure dimensional stability and prevent shrinkage.
  • Concrete Warning: If your final cast is intended for ConcreteClay™, you must use "The Fast" Alginate. Using "The Normal" or "The Slow" variants will result in an adverse chemical reaction with cementitious materials.

Volume Calculation Method:

  1. Place the subject in the intended casting vessel in the desired pose.
  2. Fill the vessel with water to the required coverage height.
  3. Measure the water volume to establish total displacement.
