Kit Components:

450g Alginate: High-precision, chromatic impression material.
1kg Gypsum Powder: Yields approx. 0.75L of high-strength casting mass.
0.5L Colour Fix™: A professional-grade binder and sealer that ensures environmental resistance and a wipeable finish.
100ml Black Pigment: Used for creating depth and a professional base coat.
50ml Copper PRO Pigment: High-density metallic pigment for a superior copper finish.

Alginate Variants:

"The Fast": 2.5-minute total working time. Best for high-efficiency moulding.
"The Normal": 4-minute total working time. Ideal for coordinated positioning.
"The Slow": 10-minute total working time. Recommended for complex moulds.

Description

Our professional Alginate Rubber is the premier choice for high-precision replication of anatomical forms. Sourced from natural marine algae, this pH-neutral, non-toxic powder is a medical-grade material (equivalent to dental standards), ensuring absolute safety for the subject during the moulding process.

Yield Estimates:

1 pair of interlocked (smaller sized) adult hands.
Approximately 3 infant foot impressions.
1 full-scale adult foot impression.

Technical Alginate Variants:

"The Fast" Alginate

Optimised for time-critical moulding tasks where the subject cannot remain stationary.

Mixing Ratio: 1.35L water per 450g powder (Yields approx. 1.5L mass).
Water Temperature: 23°C.
Mixing Phase: 45 sec (White to vivid pink).
Working Phase: 60 sec (Pink).
Setting Time: 45 sec (Returns to white when set).

"The Normal" Alginate

Designed for coordinated casts or complex artistic positioning requiring additional preparation time for the final mould.

Mixing Ratio: 1.8L water per 450g powder (Yields approx. 2L mass).
Water Temperature: 35°C.
Mixing Phase: 2 min (Light blue to deep purple).
Working Phase: 70 sec (Light purple).
Setting Time: 60 sec (Returns to light blue when set).

"The Slow" Alginate

Specially formulated for full-body casting and complex moulds where maximum working time is essential for success.

Mixing Ratio: 1.8L water per 450g powder (Yields approx. 2L mass).
Water Temperature: 35°C.
Mixing Phase: 5 min (Light blue to deep purple).
Working Phase: 2 min (Light purple).
Setting Time: 3 min (Returns to light blue when set).

*Technical Note: Alginate moulds are single-use only. To maintain dimensional stability and prevent dehydration-induced shrinkage, the final cast must be produced within the same working day.

Extra-Strength Gypsum Powder (40 MPa):
Our industrial Gypsum powder is approximately 8 times stronger than standard plaster, reaching a compressive strength of 40 MPa. This ensures high-detail, robust casts.

Mixing Ratio: 1kg Gypsum powder to approx. 330ml water.
Yield: 1kg yields 0.75L of finished casting mass.
Pot Life: 5 mins | Demould Time: 30 mins.

Colour Fix™ serves as a high-grade binding agent for MakeMake Colour Pigments, allowing for bespoke paint mixing. Beyond aesthetics, it functions as a sealer, rendering your cast water-resistant and easy to clean.

Surface Protection: Creates a durable, wipeable surface.
Finish: Multiple layers of clear Colour Fix™ provide a variable gloss finish.
Application: Ideal for sealing ConcreteClay™ or as a standalone clear lacquer for Gypsum casts.
